A Guide to Checking in for Your Singapore Airlines Flight

If you’re planning to travel with Singapore Airlines, one of the most important things to keep in mind is checking in for your flight on time. Singapore Airlines offers several options for check-in, including online check-in, mobile app check-in, auto check-in, self-service kiosk check-in, and airport counter check-in. Here's what you need to know about all check-in options:

Singapore Airlines Check-in Times

If you’re departing from Singapore Changi Airport, it’s recommended that you arrive at least two hours before your flight departs, especially if you have baggage to check-in. If you’re departing from another airport, make sure to check the local office for the check-in deadlines, which can range from 40 to 60 minutes before departure.

Online Check-in

Online check-in is available from 48 hours to 1.5 hours before your flight’s departure. To check-in online, visit SingaporeAir.com and click on the “Check In” tab. Enter your 6-character booking reference or 13-digit e-ticket number and last/family name. Once you’ve checked in, you can choose a seat, book a special meal, purchase extra baggage, and download your electronic boarding pass.

Please note that online check-in is not available for passengers under the age of 18 (unless accompanied by a passenger who is at least 18 years of age), traveling in a group of 10 or more passengers on the same reservation, or no check-in for a previous flight in the same reservation.

Mobile App Check-in

You can also check in using the official Singapore Airlines mobile app, available for Android and iOS, from 48 hours to 1.5 hours before departure. After checking in, you can download the mobile boarding pass to your device if you’re departing from certain cities and show it at the airport to go through. Note that the mobile boarding pass can only be downloaded by passengers not requiring a visa check and passengers departing from specific airports.

Auto Check-in

Auto check-in is another option available for eligible flights. You can activate it through Manage Reservation at least 48 hours before your flight departure. Once you’ve completed auto check-in, you’ll receive a confirmation email informing you that you’ve checked in for your flight.

After turning on auto check-in and up to 48 hours before departure, you can choose a seat in advance, select or change your meal preference, purchase additional baggage, and change or upgrade your flight. After you’ve been auto-checked in and until 1.5 hours before your flight’s departure, you can change your seat and generate your digital boarding pass.

Note that auto check-in is not available for passengers traveling as unaccompanied minors, group bookings for more than 9 passengers, no confirmed booking, waitlisted bookings, booked extra seats, or not checked in for a preceding flight in the same booking.

Self-Service Kiosk Check-in

You can check in at a self-service kiosk up to 24 hours before your flight’s departure. Self-service kiosks are available at several airports and offer several check-in options, such as printing your boarding pass, choosing a seat, and checking in baggage.

If you prefer to check in at an airport counter, you can do so at Singapore Changi Airport from 48 hours to 40 minutes before your flight’s departure for Singapore Airlines and SilkAir flights. For other airports, the check-in time typically ranges from 3 hours to 40 minutes before departure.

Conclusion - Singapore Airlines offers several check-in options to make your travel experience convenient and hassle-free. Make sure to check the check-in times for your specific flight and choose the option that works best for you. Safe travels!
