What is the current baggage allowance for Air Canada? 

Air Canada is known for their excellent flexible policies and when we talk about the baggage allowance then, it creates confusion because it’s depending on the various parameters such as the actual weight & dimension of the baggage item as well as class, destination points, and other related factors can be including.

  • During travel on Air Canada, Air Canada Express, and Air Canada Rouge which includes the flight operated by Air Sky Regional, Air Sky Jazz & Air Georgian then, passengers will get free checked baggage allowances also it will depend on the frequent flyer status.
  • For Business class holders, passengers are allowed for 3 bags and the weight should be 32 KG.

Does Air Canada allow 2 checked bags?

  • Yes, passengers are allowed 2 checked items but, they have to pay for one item rest of the items will get without any cost also, the dimension of the free checked baggage should not exceed 62 inches or 158 CM which will count as Length + Width + Height.
  • Also, it will consider the actual weight which will be a maximum of 23 KG or 50 Pounds.
  • If you have purchased an Economy basic fare flight ticket then, the checked baggage cost will be 60 US dollars excluding taxes.

Can I bring a carry-on and a backpack on Air Canada?

Yes, passengers are allowed to carry 1 bag & 1-person item including a purse, laptop bag, and briefcase without any additional cost.

Carry-on Baggage: 

  • The carry-on baggage size must be 118 CM as per the 21.5 Inch X 15.5 Inch X 9 Inch that will count as Length + Weight + Height.
  • All the carry-on baggage will count under the handles & wheels.
  • The carry-on baggage must fit or cover under the box.

Personal Item: 

  • 1 personal item is allowed without any additional fees but, it must be covered or overhead under the seat.
  • The actual dimension should not exceed 92 CM including 43 CM X 33 CM X 16 CM.
  • The personal item can be a diaper bag, assistive devices, umbrella, jacket, or other but, a wheelchair, stroller, walker, crutches, or other similar devices will not count under the personal item of the carry-on baggage policy of Air Canada.

Air Canada Baggage Fees: 

  • Standard checked baggage fees will be different where the first baggage will be free of cost and for the second baggage, passengers can pay approximately 50 US dollars to 100 US dollars.
  • For domestic excess baggage fee will be 225 US dollars which will count from the US or Caribbean.
  • For international excess baggage fee will be 225 US dollars.
  • For extra weight & dimension, passengers need to pay 100 US dollars to 200 US dollars as Air Canada baggage fees depending upon the class, distance, duration, destination points, or other major factors.
